AMiMO Cluster organizes the first PhDs Workshop dealing with Innovation in Smart Manufacturing

On June 11th, 2025, the ONE4ALL project proudly hosted a joint PhD Workshop in collaboration with sister projects from the AMiMO Cluster, uniting early-stage researchers across disciplines to explore the future of smart manufacturing.

The speakers and participants represented five Horizon Europe projects— ONE4ALL, DMaaST, MARS, Modapto, Modul4r — ccommitted to creating and strengthening synergy and clustering within Horizon Europe initiative.

Held under the title “Emerging Research in Smart Manufacturing: A PhD Round Table on Digital Twins and AI”, the event focused on fostering cross-project connections, showcasing how diverse research themes—from Digital Twins (DT) to Artificial Intelligence (AI)—complement and enrich each other.

The workshop featured two thematic sessions:

  • Session 1 spotlighted DT-oriented solutions for Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems (RMS), with talks on energy efficiency, validation techniques, and expert knowledge integration.

  • Session 2 centered on AI-driven approaches, including federated learning, predictive maintenance, optimization algorithms, and production scheduling.

As a result, the event successfully promoted knowledge sharing, interdisciplinary dialogue, and future collaboration among researchers working on advanced manufacturing solutions. It marked a significant step toward the consolidation of a strong and connected research community within the AMiMO Cluster, reinforcing the strategic objectives of the Horizon Europe programme.
